Dear Brethren,
The Lord continues to bless the ministry here and we truly appreciate your investment in the lives of men! We have had many great opportunities to witness each week on the streets and sow the seed of the gospel here in Thessaloniki. Just re-cently, we had a great witness with a couple young men that listened respectfully as I asked them about their relationship with the Lord. The answers they gave me were the typical responses you get from the Orthodox people here. However, they did take the tracts and seemed to consider what they heard. We pray they will surrender their hearts to the Lord!
We also met up with Konstantinos and his wife several times in the past two weeks. It was great to have them over our house and try to get to know them better. It has been said many times by our brethren that have ministered to the Greeks that you cannot reach these people without establishing a relationship with them. Therefore, in our endeavor to reach them, we try to have them over or sometimes meet them at a cafe. There are so many misconceptions that it takes time to get past a lot of these ideas. The typical statement we hear is that we are Jehovahs Witnesses or some other cult… since many of them believe the Greek Orthodox Church is the only TRUE church. Regardless, we continue to pray and plow as the Lord works on their hearts!
Another ministry that I’ve been able to volunteer at is the Refugee Center. There are so many nationalities pouring into the country with war going on around us! I had a great witness with some men from Sudan and some other African countries. We also help people from Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Ukraine, and many other places. There is an orga-nization here that will give them food and clothing to help them get on their feet. I have volunteered to serve them, and it opens up opportunities to talk to them about the Lord as well! Since I’m not allowed inside their refugee camps, this is another way that I can reach them.
It was wonderful to have some of our family visit us last month! My parents came from the US and my sister and broth-er-in-law from Bulgaria, along with their family. We enjoyed catching up with them and showing them some of the sights where Paul came during his missionary travels!
The church is doing very well and we continue to have visitors coming periodically. May we be found faithful and watching for the Lord’s soon return!
